Yee Kuan Family Day Care

Hi, my name is Yee Kuan and I am a mother of three children. I started practising as a family day care educator in 2015 when my youngest son began attending the primary school. I am registered with Kids Individual Daycare Solutions (FDC scheme) in supporting me to operate my family day care service. My service's location is in Waverley Park, Mulgrave and I am providing full-time care for children from two to five years old in a home environment.

In my family day care, an individualised learning program is planned and implemented for each child to support the holistic aspects of their learning and development which include phonics, literacy, vocabulary, art and craft, gross and fine motor skills, communication and social skills as well as some basic knowledge for both maths and science. Singing songs and reading are part of our routine. We speak English, Mandarin and Cantonese with our children. A minimum booking of 8 hours of care per day is required. The operation of my service is from Monday to Friday each week, 8:00am to 6:00pm. As healthy eating is one of the learning themes for the children in my care, I also offer a four-week healthy food menu of vegetarian breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for the children.

I have completed and passed the following courses:

• Bachelor of Commerce (University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand)
• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (Open Colleges - Enable College)
• Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety (Australian Institute of Food Safety)
• Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (current)
• Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (current)
